early software projects

PureSynth

PureSynth is sine wave polyphonic synthesizer. The main idea behind this plug-in was to show the sine wave in a circle as you played each note, adding circles with each key pressed. Each circle more or less represents a “voice” in the synthesizer. I really wanted to learn how to build a synth and this is the project I feel I did that. This is also the project that inspired KrumSampler, mostly because I learned that a drum sampler is actually just a synthesizer.

kComp

Kcomp is a compressor plugin that I built early on. I wanted to learn how make a compressor and also learn how to draw level meters. This is one of my first fully built out plugins. This has all the standard features of a compressor and also had a preset menu, as well as a developer window.

Dave’s EQ3

Dave Rowland is a Mixing and Recording engineer in NYC. We collaborated to build this simple EQ plug-in. We were after creating a 3 band eq with the intention of making it visually easy to see, with the ultimate goal being to use this as a tool for teaching in videos. I learned how to make an EQ, a spectrum analyzer and a band solo feature. This also included a developer mode window for tweaking EQ parameters under the hood.
